Numerical Calculation of Solid-Liquid Two-Phase Flow in Open-Design Vortex Pump

Abstract This paper mainly based on the CFD platform, numerical simulation of internal flow field in open-design vortex pump under different solid particle concentration and size is carried out to explore trajectory characteristics particles impeller channel lateral cavity, as well distribution particles, calculate sliding velocity channel. The results show that at concentrations, volume fraction f front rear cover plate area blade high middle low; decreases gradually from working face back, are widely distributed inlet area. Due asymmetry volute structure, corresponding casing tongue significantly higher than other areas; existence circulating through flow, a circular direction region large; In tongue, with increase size, values 0.5mm 1.0mm sizes close.
